This week we have been out removing graffiti across the ward. This picture shows Andrew cleaning the utility station on Thief Lane. We have also been in Hull Road Park cleaning up the light columns.

Please take care if you use the bus shelter on Tang Hall Lane close to the Doctor's surgery at the junction with Millfield Lane.

A large piece of metal has been broken off and exposed a sharp edge. We have covered it with tape and reported it to the council for urgent action.

Great news about Hull Road Park.

The award of Green Flag Status reflects the hard work put in by the Friends Group, local residents and volunteers.

Andrew Mortimer who chairs the Friends Group said "we wouldn't have achieved green flag without the pressure put on the council by local people who wanted to see much needed improvements to the park. What has been achieved is just the start and there is till much more to do."

🌳🏆 What fantastic news for York! Hull Road Park has been awarded a Green Flag!

A huge congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen. This special award means Hull Road Park is now recognised as one of the best parks in the country.

Thank you to all the volunteers, Friends groups, community partners and council teams (pictured) who work so hard to keep the park clean, safe and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

Hull Road Park now joins York’s other amazing Green Flag parks:
Rowntree Park
West Bank Park
Glen Gardens
Clarence Gardens

These parks are wonderful places where people can play, exercise, relax and enjoy nature.

Congratulations to everyone involved. This award is a fantastic achievement, and you should all be very proud!

Hull Road Park York

The green man on the pedestrian phase of the traffic lights at the junction of Field Lane and Church Lane in Heslington wasn't working on Wednesday.
We reported the fault to the council who arranged for an engineer to fix the problem earlier today and we are pleased to report that the crossing is safe to use again.

This week we reported a build up of end of term waste in the back lane between Lamel and Siward Streets. Thanks to the council team who were out quickly and removed the black bags and litter. We will continue to monitor other streets for a build up of waste. If you see any that needs dealing with please let us know.
