FALKLANDS SERVICE.
It was an honour to attend the Service of Commemoration in St John’s Churchyard along with the many veterans from the Falklands Campaign on a glorious sunny Sunday afternoon.
It was more of a privilege to lay a wreath as Mayor, on behalf of the council and people of Yeovil in remembrance of the many lives lost from our area.
Well done to all attendees!

KNOLL FEST.
Nice to be able to relax with many of the residents at the Knoll Nursing Home this morning and lunchtime. Entertainment was in ample supply and was enjoyed by those present.
A few photos of the opening with resident Ron Jacklin with whom I had a long chat was followed with a few goes on the fundraising stalls present. Lunch was an excellent BBQ shared with a group of ladies which was very enjoyable, and a good laugh. The weather was dry which was a bonus, but a bit windy at times.

SHINING STARS AWARDS
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of being invited to the Yeovil College Shining star awards. What a truly wonderful evening sharing the experience and the joy of the many award winning students, who were recognised through the hard work they had applied to their studies.
Everyone was a winner and should be proud of what they achieved. A special congratulations must go to the student that was recognised as the Overall Shining Star that was awarded at the end of the evening.
A huge congratulations to all concerned for a wonderful event!

Support two excellent local charities at Westland Leisure Complex on Saturday 20th June. Yeovil Blood Bikes or Yeovil Freewheelers and Yeovil Hospitol Charity Dementia Care.

HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
Nice to see so many players taking part in the Yeovil and Sherborne Hockey Club Tournament held at Mudford Recreation Ground. The weather played its part today, dry and breezy but no rain.
It was a pleasure to be asked to present a couple of team prizes thoroughly deserved by those teams that won. The energy and fitness levels had to be seen to be believed. Well done! A good day had by all.

THE OCTAGON JUNIOR CHOIR
A few members of the Octagon Junior Choir who welcomed guests from the Mayors Civic Service to the Westland Leisure Complex.
A varied programme of songs was wonderfully performed, you all did superbly well which was appreciated by the many guest’s who made comments on the day.
