Today is Emergency Services Day and we’d like to celebrate all the people who work together to keep our communities safe. 🚒

From the firefighters responding to incidents, to our control room operators taking calls and mobilising crews; from our support teams keeping everything running behind the scenes, to our fire cadets learning and developing for the future.

And it doesn’t stop with us. We’re proud to work alongside colleagues across the emergency services and partner agencies, supporting one another when our communities need us most.

So today, we’re saying a huge thank you to everyone who plays their part.

Emergency services are stronger together. ❤️

🚒 GREENBANK FIRE STATION OPEN DAY 🚒

Join us at Greenbank Fire Station on Sunday 16 August, from 11am until 3pm, for a fun and informative day for the whole family.
Come along, meet your local crews and find out more about the work we do to protect our community.

Throughout the day, there will be:
Road traffic collision rescue demonstration
Aerial Ladder Platform rescue demonstration
Kids-on-hoses activities
First-aid training with St John Ambulance
Interactive road-safety games
Fire appliances to explore and learn about
An ice cream van
We would love to see as many people from our local community as possible.

With another heatwave this week the Wildfire Risk Map is VERY HIGH with midweek showing EXCEPTIONAL risk in parts of Somerset! This means wildfires 🔥 can start easily & spread rapidly.

Thank you to all our followers for sharing our messages, this helps protect your communities, the environment and our firefighters, as responding to any incidents in the heat is extremely challenging for them.

Reducing risk, saving lives! Your efforts are truly appreciated in reducing that risk.
