🚒 This incident is a great example of the wide range of emergencies firefighters respond to. It's not just fires, crews are often called upon to assist with rescues too.

North Earlham Blue Watch were called to support Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service with the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) following an incident involving a rollercoaster at Pleasurewood Hills.

👏 Thank you to the crews from both services who worked together to safely rescue the 27 individuals involved.

As a fire and rescue service, we do far more than just fight fires 🔥(although we've had plenty of those to deal with this summer).

Join us tomorrow from 10am to 3pm for a chance to meet your local crew, explore our vehicles and equipment, watch live demonstrations, and meet our specialist USAR Team.

☕ Refreshments will be available throughout the day, with all proceeds helping to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity and Nelson's Journey.

It’s fair to say that without our on-call firefighters, we simply wouldn’t be able to operate as a fire and rescue service 🙏

We are indebted not only to them, but also to the primary employers of our on-call cohort, who allow them the flexibility to respond to fire calls when they are needed – which, if we’re honest, they really have been this summer! 🚒

Thanks to all the on-call employers in our county, but an extra special thanks to the seven who have formalised that agreement by becoming signatories of our new on-call employers charter, which we launched earlier this year, where they’ve pledged to allow a period of additional unpaid leave. Those magnificent seven are:

🚒Four Norfolk firefighters are heading to Atlanta this Thursday to take part in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Tom Field, Scott Field, Matthew Oxborrow and Carley Ward will be representing Norfolk as they take on the equivalent of 110 floors in full PPE, remembering the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 11 September 2001.

🎙️ Tune into BBC Radio Norfolk tomorrow at 11.30am to hear Carley talk about the challenge.

🚚 We've been out making memories with the East Coast Truckers Charity Convoy again this year ☺️

Thanks to everyone who came and lined the streets to cheer us all on yesterday as we made our way from Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills, giving disadvantaged and disabled children a day out to remember.

This spectacular event wouldn't be possible without the volunteers, including the incredible organisers and drivers - and you, the people of Norfolk who support it. Our firefighters, who take part in their free time, had the best day.

Last weekend was so good, we’re going to leave you with a reminder of it as we head into this one…!

Nearly a week on, we’re still buzzing about last Saturday’s Frontline Festival, where hundreds of you turned out to The Walks to enjoy music, entertainment, fun…and sunshine! ☀️

The blue-light services and first responders who serve our county came together and showcased a range of live demos, including a road traffic collision scenario from our fire cadets, a prison dog display, and a police cadet demonstration showing how to manage an unruly crowd.

Thank you to everyone who came out in their numbers, to all our fellow emergency services, partners and all those who had a stall or were involved in the entertainment on the day, and a special thanks to NFRS staff Shaun Futter, Roy Tait, and in particular Rebecca Taylor, who put in an incredible amount of work to put something on for the community of King’s Lynn and the whole of west Norfolk. We’re already excited about next year 😄

Join us at Heacham Fire Station this Saturday for a day of family fun and the chance to get up close to the equipment our crews use to help keep Norfolk safe.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity .

⛰️ This October, firefighters Alan Nicholls and Lloyd Frosdick will take on the incredible challenge of climbing Mera Peak in the Himalayas, reaching an altitude of 6,476 metres.

Joining them will be Lloyd's brother, Scott, a former Royal Marine, as they embark on a demanding 16 to 20-day expedition involving remote trekking, glacier climbing, high-altitude acclimatisation and a tough summit push.

The trio are taking on this challenge to raise funds for a range of fantastic charities, including Fire Fighters Charity .
