MATCH REPORT | Wrexham AFC Veterans 2–6 Strong Minds FC

Today’s Easter Sunday friendly saw Wrexham AFC Veterans travel to Llandudno FC’s ground to take on a strong Strong Minds FC side.

The lads started brightly and took a deserved lead on 16 minutes, showing intent and sharpness early on. However, Strong Minds responded well and turned things around before the break, sending us in 2–1 down at half-time.

The second half proved tough. With the wind firmly in their favour, Strong Minds came out with real intensity and pinned us back from the restart. Despite the team battling hard and continuing to play some good football, the pressure told and the home side added to their tally, with the match finishing 6–2.

Massive credit to both teams for getting the game on over Easter, especially with players missing due to holidays and several lads putting in their third game in four days — a proper shift all round.

🔥 Moment of the Match:
A brilliant debut moment from Buck, producing a classy outside-of-the-boot nutmeg that had everyone watching on.

As always, the game was played in great spirit and respect between both sides.

And so the journey home begins… Marienloh Tattoo 2026, what an experience.

Months of hard work from a volunteer corps of drums paid off—two packed performances, amazing people, and memories to last a lifetime. A truly special few days with like-minded people, united by music and maybe a few alcoholic beverages….

Congratulations to Emily Nicholls on passing her recent BATTLES course and achieving the rank of Fusilier, within 3 Royal Welsh, A Company.

Her stable belt was presented by CSgt Andy Bennett from Gwersyllt.

Both are part of the Infantry team that train in Hightown Barracks every Tuesday night.

All match proceeds will be donated to the charity SANDS, which does vital work to support families affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
