Yesterday’s pick by Jacqueline Palmer— 6 bags collected! 🗑️💪

🗑️ First section: Church St, Rhosymedre → Park Rd → High St → across the car park → Chapel St → back to the High St / Chapel St junction.

I emptied all three litter bins along this section and left 2 bags by the litter bin on the corner.

🗑️ Second section: High St / Chapel St junction → Park Rd → Newbridge Rd → Cae Gwilym Lane → Ty Mawr Country Park → riverside path → Trevor Basin → New Rd → Mill Lane → entrance to the old Flexsys site → Queen St → Queen St / Dolydd Rd junction.

1 bag left by the litter bin on the corner.

🗑️ Third section: Queen St / Dolydd Rd junction → Hill St → Plas Kynaston Lane → Cefn Memorial Garden → Tesco Cefn Mawr → Oxford St → Oxford St roundabout.

1 bag left by the litter bin just off the roundabout.

🗑️ Final section: Oxford St roundabout → Well St → Rock Rd → back lanes → Churchfields playing field, Rhosymedre.

I walked around the football pitch and through the Children's Playground and emptied both litter bins. 1 bag left by the litter bin nearest the car park.

That makes 6 bags collected in total! 💪

Dropping litter is for fools, but clearing it up is really cool!! 😎🗑️

📚 CEFN MAWR LIBRARY – TEMPORARY CLOSURE
🔨 Essential Maintenance Works

Please be aware that Cefn Mawr Library will remain temporarily closed while essential maintenance works are carried out.

📅 9 September – Scaffolding scheduled to be erected
🔨 13 September – Essential works scheduled to begin
📖 11 October 2026 – Anticipated reopening date, subject to works progressing as planned.

During the closure, you can still renew or reserve library items and access the online catalogue using Wrexham Libraries' online services.

Books can be returned to any library within the Wrexham Library and Information Service network.

🌟 WOW – ANOTHER 10 BAGS COLLECTED! 🌟

A massive THANK YOU to Jacqueline Palmer for another incredible litter pick yesterday! 👏💚

🗑️ 10 bags of rubbish were collected from around Rhosymedre, Ruabon Roundabout, Llangollen Road, Watkin Way, Wynnstay Lane, Plas Madoc, Hampden Way and surrounding streets.

What an amazing effort once again! 💪♻️

It’s such a shame that this amount of litter is still being dropped, but thanks to Jacqueline’s continued hard work, our community is looking that little bit cleaner and tidier. ❤️

👏 Well done Jacqueline – another fantastic job and a huge thank you from us all!

📚⚠️ CEFN MAWR LIBRARY – CLOSED TODAY ⚠️📚

We have been informed that Cefn Mawr Library will unfortunately be CLOSED today due to a water leak caused by problems with the roof.

The necessary teams are aware and are dealing with the situation, and Health & Safety will also be attending to assess the building.

At the moment, we do not know whether the library will be able to reopen tomorrow, but we will share an update as soon as we receive further information.

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.

Please feel free to share this post so that as many local residents as possible are aware.

🌿YESTERDAYS COMMUNITY LITTER PICK – 5 BAGS COLLECTED! 🌿

Another fantastic effort from our dedicated litter-picking volunteer today Jacqueline Palmer – 5 bags of rubbish collected, along with yet another fly-tip! 👏♻️

📍 Starting from Church St, Rhosymedre to Rock Rd, for the third week running there was fly-tipping in the small parking area where the path up to Coed Richard & Acrefair joins Rock Rd. 😡

This time it was an easy chair! Thankfully, it was a little easier to deal with than the rubbish that had been dumped there over the previous two weeks. The chair was dragged down to the litter bin near the Rock Rd/Church St junction, along with a bag of litter collected along Rock Rd towards Plas Madoc, as far as the double bend where Rock Rd becomes Whalley’s Way.

🚶 The litter pick then continued along Rock Rd, Well St, Oxford St, Tesco Cefn Mawr, Cefn Memorial Garden and Plas Kynaston Lane, with another bag left by the litter bin opposite the entrance to the MUGA football pitch.

Then it was onwards from Plas Kynaston Lane to Hill St, where Hoopy managed to stop for a lovely photo with the rainbow over the Dee Valley 🌈🐾, before continuing along Queen St, Dolydd Rd, Cae Gwilym Lane and Newbridge Rd, down to the bridge over the River Dee and up the other side.

💚 5 bags collected in total and another huge stretch of our community cleaned up.

A massive thank you once again for giving up your time and putting so much effort into keeping Cefn and the surrounding communities looking their best. 👏👏

The repeated fly-tipping is incredibly frustrating, but the dedication of our volunteers certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.

♻️ Please help us keep our community clean – take your rubbish home or dispose of it responsibly.

♻️ WELL DONE FLORENCE & MUM! ♻️

Another fantastic litter pick from our lovely Florence and her mum on Sunday! 💚👏

They collected 1 full bag of rubbish while out on their walk. Sadly, there was once again lots of rubbish and broken glass around the Cenotaph, which they made sure was safely picked up. 🗑️

The bag was left by Môn y Ddôl School ready for collection.

A massive thank you to you both for giving up your time and helping to keep our community clean and tidy. 🌳💚

🚌🎉 BURY MARKET TRIP – WE ARE NOW FULL! 🎉🚌

Well… that didn’t take long! 😂 ALL 53 SEATS HAVE NOW GONE for our Bury Market trip! ❤️

I honestly can’t believe how quickly this trip has filled up – thank you so much to everyone who has booked.

💷 IMPORTANT: There are still a few people who have booked seats but haven’t paid yet. Please can payment be made ASAP to secure your seat.

📋 I am now starting a RESERVE LIST, so if you missed out and would still like to come, please get in touch and I’ll add your name. If any seats become available due to non-payment or cancellations, I’ll contact people on the reserve list in order.
