East Preston Fire Station (Station 48) is an Retained Duty System (RDS) station. There is:
48P1 Water Tender Fire Engine WrL
Fire and Emergency Support Vehicle (FES)


On The incident logs you may also see some abbreviations
HR = Hose Reel. Water jet used for smaller Fires
BA = Breathing Apparatus Self contained Breathing apparatus
PPV = Positive Pressure Ventilation. Fan used to Disperse Smoke

RDS personnel respond to alerters (pagers) 24/7. They must be within 4 minutes away from the Fire Station to respond to emergency calls.
