This morning at parkside our family worked very hard with chair exercises.
This has been beneficial to some, and movement has been a little easier.
We also done the word wheel, we beat last week on words. 💯
👏. This morning while we were waiting for everyone, one of our residents helped to produce this lovely autumn 🍁 table decoration. It takes pride on our shelf in the lounge at present. Some days we have residents who just wish to rest, and this is Good, as they are listening to their bodies.

Today at parkside our family celebrated
our themed Hawaiian event. Our family over the weeks were busy making flowers, painting leaves , so we could decorate. We had flower garlands, and the only time you will see Karen in a grass skirt 😆
We had Hawaiian music, and enjoyed some lovely food prepared by our wonderful chef Simon. The dessert of fruits and pineapple 🍍 upside down pudding smelt 🤩 amazing.
Our activities of Bingo, followed by a quiz, and finish the old fashioned sayings! It was lovely to see everyone brought together like this. Thank you to our wonderful family who participated and made this happen. 👏

Today at parkside our family did a new
activity. This will be weekly. It's a sharing , communication based, where we share news, books we are reading, TV articles/ programmes, news in general.

We had a good first discussion on various topics. This is not only good for friendships and bonding, but working in a group, listening to others, and talking! After we played a game of wheel words
Everyone came up with fantastic words. 💯. After we did some chair exercises, .

Today at parkside our family enjoyed their second session of chair exercises! It's great for our mobility and movement. We then had a discussion about how it's great to communicate with each other, and share our experiences, and things like when we read a book, a magazine article, a TV programme, news, family events etc. We are going to have a weekly talk, where everyone has the opportunity to share

We also got our wreath up.

Today at parkside our family wished to finish the wreath, which we accomplished 😄
They have worked very hard in creating this beautiful 🍁🍂 wreath.
After some wanted to do a 🧩 puzzle, while others another project that we were doing for our Hawaiian event soon .
Being part of something brings a feel good factor, and gives us a purpose, as well as creating and strengthening friendships.
We even had a grasshopper join our group this morning.

Today at parkside our family enjoyed morning coffee at the brewhouse. Some opted for cold drinks, but each made their own choice. We took some cakes to enjoy too. We played music, had a dance to dolly parton, and abba. We participated in a quiz. Everyone really had 😊 fun, and the cakes provided by Karen were delicious 😋. Everyone had free drinks, as we took it out of our fundraising money!
We even had a bit of time this morning, to stick a few more leaves on our wreath. It's coming on! 🌿🍀
It's lovely to socialise outside together, and it helps to bring us all closer together, and gives us a sense of purpose and belonging.Thank you to Lucy who helped Karen, and to the carers who helped transport the residents . We really appreciate being given these opportunities, and the weather was good to us. 🌞

Today at parkside our family enjoyed chair exercises, one of our residents is having to do exercises more often, so this is a good opportunity to help her. We all need to move, in order to keep our mobility, and simple stretches can help, These are great for co ordination, and hand and eye co ordination. , as well as socialising
It gives us a feeling of energy to start the day
Everyone did 💯 👏
After our lovely group of our family wished to carry on with the wreath making, this time we have started a bigger one. 🍁 🍂.

Today at parkside our family created a wonderful autumn 🍁 wreath. Every one covered and stuck the beautiful colours of the leaves, and chose what they wanted to then put on it. Pumpkin 🎃, acorns, berries, it looks fantastic 😊. It's displayed in the lounge at parkside.
Others sat in the garden reading their book, while some had family, and others did word searches. The creativity at parkside is wonderful, and everyone has great ideas, and brings them home the table, and that's why we get amazing results

Today at parkside our family had their 2nd session of chair exercises this week
We are doing this twice a week! This is so good for co ordination, and strengthening of our bodies. It's really helping us to move a little easier. It's great to see everyone joining in. After a group of the ladies painted some woodland animals for a scene we are creating in our arts and crafts.
Others read books, sat in the garden reading their book!

Today at parkside many residents had nail care 💅 This entailed cleaning, cutting, filing , and painting for some
We listened to music 🎶, while some did word searches, and some went out with family and friends. A resident even sat in the garden and read her book!
It's lovely we have lots of choice.
