The story of Mr Straw’s House stretches far beyond its front door, and few places were more important to the Straw family than St John’s Church in Worksop.
Walter Straw served faithfully as churchwarden, while William later wrote a book marking the church’s centenary, reflecting the family’s deep connection to both the church and the wider town community.
Their support and involvement formed an important part of everyday life for the Straws, making this month’s heritage events at St John’s feel especially meaningful to us.
