Fantastic to see our apprentice Rio York (pictured on the left) doing so well with Barrow Raiders🏉

Rio is currently in the first year of his Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship with Gen2, and it’s great to see him progressing both on and off the field.

Well done Rio, keep up the hard work!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Over the weekend, Furness Raiders duo Ryu McDermott and Rio York represented England Community Lions' Under 17s in their 46-10 win against Scotland.

Both players put in an excellent display, with Rio going over for a try 👏

Gen2 attended the Warrick Wanderers Football Gala and enjoyed having lots of great conversations with players, parents and supporters throughout the event.

Pictured is Andrew Rattigan, E&I Trainer/Assessor at Gen2, presenting the prize to Karl Boyd, winner of our “Guess the Nuts & Bolts” competition.

Karl, who was there supporting his daughters playing in the tournament, guessed 1541, just six away from the correct total of 1535!

Together, the competition raised £100. Thanks to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success!

We’re proud to celebrate the achievements of two of our Teaching Assistant apprentices, who recently competed at The Summit Cheerleading Competition in Florida 🏆

Evie Sloan, from Bridekirk Dovenby School, and Faith Douglas-Brown, from Ewanrigg Junior School, represented their team at the international competition this May, balancing the demands of training alongside their apprenticeships.

Their hard work and dedication paid off with an incredible second-place finish and a silver medal achievement.

Evie also coached another team during the event, helping them secure victory at the All Star World Championship. An amazing accomplishment and a true reflection of her commitment and talent.

Congratulations to both Evie and Faith on their fantastic success.

We’re looking forward to being back at the Warwick Wanderers Festival of Football this weekend ⚽

Gen2 has attended for the last few years, and every year we’ve had some really great conversations with young people, parents, and families about apprenticeships, short courses, and higher education opportunities.

We’ll be there again this year, so if you’re coming along, make sure to stop by and say hello. We’d love to chat about your next steps, future plans, and the opportunities available at Gen2.

Looking forward to another fantastic weekend of football and community.
