See behind the scenes of a hospital operating theatre.

Every other Friday, our theatres at Kidderminster Hospital provide a dedicated day giving specialist care for children.

Thanks to partnerships with Birmingham Children's Hospital and Charity and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, our Elective Paediatric Hub can give patients the treatment they need, in a friendly and specialist environment.

We held a special garden party for patients with dementia and their families yesterday.

The party to mark Dementia Action Week included a performance by talented singer Melissa Hollick, who demonstrated the power of music.

Research shows music can have a huge impact on the brain and be beneficial for people with dementia.

Music's unique ability to prompt emotions and influence mood make it a valuable therapeutic tool.

Ray Padilla was invited by the King to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace yesterday on International Nurses' Day.

Ray runs our Acute Frailty Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital but also plays a key role supporting our internationally-educated nurses as they settle in.

He was invited to the Royal Garden Party in recognition of his support of the Filipino Nurses Association United Kingdom.

Ray got to shake hands and speak to the King, who acknowledged the remarkable contribution of Filipino nurses in the NHS πŸ‡΅πŸ‡πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Ray said: "I'm grateful for this recognition of my service to the community and for the opportunity to continue supporting patients and staff in my current role in Worcester."

Congratulations Ray! πŸ‘

We are thrilled to announce Hold the Moment – Maternity Appeal has reached it's goal and raised Β£223,000!

A huge thank you to our supporters for their generous donations, everyone who has fundraised through our Midwife Miles Challenge and their own events, and the grants secured from local Trusts and Foundations for helping us to reach this point.

You have funded:

πŸ’š The extension to the maternity bereavement suite at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, creating a new space for families to include a dedicated memory-making room where families can create lasting memories with dignity and care.

πŸ’š 23 buddy beds for the Lavender postnatal ward meaning partners can stay close, stay involved and be rested enough to support.

πŸ’š 9 jaundice meters for our Community and Continuity of Care team, helping midwives to take accurate, non-invasive jaundice readings and give an immediate answer to anxious new parents.

πŸ’š Enhancements to environments across all hospital sites, helping families to hold the moment together in a welcoming, warm and relaxing space.

Thank you for your support, we can’t wait to keep you updated on the funded building work and equipment arriving to your local hospitals soon!
