Vital work to repair the main track into The Knapp and Papermill nature reserve means that the reserve and adjacent section of road will be closed 27th-31st October.

This follows on from the work done in early September and has been timed to coincide with half-term to minimise the impact on school buses and commuter traffic.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause visitors and local residents but please see our website for more details ๐Ÿ‘‡

The entrance to nature reserve will be closed on Friday September 5th 2025.

Regular visitors will be aware that the main access track from the house down to the orchard has developed a large crack along its length.

In order to allow the structural engineers to fully assess the damage and better understand how to repair it, scrub will be cleared from a section of the bank down to the Leigh Brook.

Work will take place on Friday 5th September 2025 and the entrance to the nature reserve will be closed on this day. Access will still be possible via the network of public footpaths in the area.

This work precedes further work in autumn and next year to secure the future of the track. Please keep a look out for further information onsite as well as through our website and social media channels in the coming weeks.

Contractors will be on site this week to pollard alders and poplars along the riverbank. This will help to let in more light, benefitting plants on the banks and fish and aquatic invertebrates in the river.
Please be aware of any signs and temporary path closures as theyโ€™re there to keep you safe. We apologise for any inconvenience.
