This coin looks a little bit like a Penny of Edward but you'll notice two big differences firstly the head looks really different being side on and then on the reverse it has stars in its angles. Its actually a Medieval Scottish penny of Alexander III!

This twin tub washing machine belonged to Sylvia Stokeld, an artist from Church Hanborough who founded the Inky Parrot Press – publishers of beautiful, limited-edition books specialising in illustration – with her husband. She hand-painted this washing machine with a wonderful image of a mermaid with a green and gold tail. The machine, an Aquamatic-Nymph model mounted on a set of four wheels, was still plumbed in and in full working order upon collection from the owners in 2021.

We wanted to share this wonderful picture of the lawn at Swalcliffe Barn.

The grass areas around the barn were left to grow wild during No Mow May and resulted in a wave of wildflowers for the bees to enjoy 💮🐝

Thanks to Cllr Nicola Borkmann for this great photo!

Swalcliffe Barn is one of the finest half-cruck barns in the country and was acquired by the Oxfordshire Buildings Trust in 1990.

It's currently used by the Oxfordshire Museum Service to exhibit a collection of agricultural and trade vehicles from the county.

The barn is open between May and September on Sundays and Bank Holidays 2-5pm.
