Congratulations to Cllr Lynne Foster as this year's Mayor of Chelmsford. Cllr Eley had the pleasure of nominating her at the CCC AGM last Wednesday. Wishing her and the Deputy Mayor Cllr Julia Frascona a wonderful year.

Good luck to the new Cabinet Members at Chelmsford City Council. Cllr Eley has taken the decision to step down from Cabinet due to personal commitments. She will remain Ward Councillor for the Elmwood and Woodville Ward. Cllr Sherlock becomes Cabinet Deputy for Economy and Sustainable Transport.

Changes to Chelmsford City Council’s Cabinet team will be introduced at this week’s Annual Council.

We enter a pre-election period again today, for the Springfield by-election following the sad and unexpected passing of Cllr Mike Mackrory. We would like to Cllr Richard Lee good luck.

We are pleased to announce our candidate for the delayed Chelmsford Springfield election will be Richard Lee. This follows the sad death of Cllr Mike Mackrory.

Richard has been a dedicated parish councillor since 2015, a city councillor in The Lawns since 2019, member of the local Speedwatch group and is an active volunteer for the Chelmsford Litter Wombles & the SUPsect Water Wombles, helping keep our city clean and tidy. 👍

He is committed to community safety, fixing the pothole crisis and listening to residents’ concerns. Alongside Mike, he has continuously stood up for Springfield residents over many years.

Richard will be a strong local champion for families and communities in Springfield. On 18th June, vote for Richard Lee and the Lib Dems. 🔶

Thank you to those residents who voted for the Liberal Democrats throughout Chelmsford, and for me in the Woodham Ferrers Division.

Congratulations to Cllrs Stephen Robinson who retained Chelmsford North & David Loxton who retained Chelmsford Central. Congratulations also to Cllr Hazel Clark who was elected to Chelmsford West Division.

Commiserations to Smita Rajesh and Kieron Franks who despite all their hard work campaigning were not successful in gaining their Divisions.

Thank you too, to all who manned the polling stations throughout yesterday and who attended the count last night.
