The images below show the importance of closing doors within your property.

🚪🔥 A closed door can save lives.

In the event of a fire, closing doors behind you can help slow the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic gases, giving everyone more time to escape and firefighters more time to respond.

It only takes a second to close a door, but that simple action could make a life-saving difference.

Tragically, another life has been lost in the water in Lincolnshire.

Our thoughts and condolences are with their friends and family at this difficult time.

It’s a heart breaking reminder of the dangers of our waters here in the UK.

With the warm weather continuing this half term, our plea for everyone is to know your water safety.

Cold water shock can happen in seconds, and even the strongest of swimmers can still get into difficulty. The UK’s waters never get warm enough, even on the hottest of days, to stop this involuntary reaction.

If you’re struggling in the water, remember to FLOAT:
- Tilt your head back, submerging your ears.
- Relax and control your breathing.
- Move your hands and legs to help you stay afloat.
- Your legs may sink. That’s ok, everyone floats differently.
- Once calm, call for help

If you see someone struggling, avoid entering the water, tell them to FLOAT, call 999, and throw something that they can grab on to.
