Tonight the crew carried out a drill involving working at height whilst using the LPP (augmented supply) and hauling equipment aloft, pitching a ladder and ascending / descending ladders safely were also observed.

31st August

Alerted to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property in the early hours which turned out to be a false alarm.

Later on in the afternoon we were mobilised to chapel Hill to a fire in the open
Which turned out to be a controlled burn of a straw bail.

21:19 - Mobilised to assist EMAS with gaining entry to a collapsed person in a property on sandy bank New York.
The crew gained entry and handed over to the awaiting paramedics.

22:03 - En-route to home station we recevied a priority to attend an alarm sounding in a property in Billinghay, no signs of fire.

07:55 - Mobilised as relief crew to an agricultural building fire in Worlaby alongside Leverton, Lincoln south ALP and Market Rasen Water carrier.

🔥 The recent Government alert has increased awareness of wildfire risks, which has been very important with the recent weather.

Our crews are working around the clock to keep our communities safer, and that includes our fantastic control team who take calls and help mobilise firefighters every day.

They’ve noticed a sharp spike in non-emergency 999 calls since the alert.

Please remember that 999 should only be used to report emergencies.

Where there’s a fire, visible plumes of smoke, people at risk, get to safety and call 999.
