📱 Recycle small electricals and batteries easily.

Got an old phone, hairdryer or a drawer full of dead batteries?
Place items (up to 35cm x 40cm) in a carrier bag (no black sacks) and leave them next to your bin on collection day. South Staffordshire Council do not collect light bulbs, fluorescent tubes or car/industrial batteries.

🌺 Wombourne Remembrance Poppy Project 🌺

Wombourne Women’s Institute and Wombourne Guides have started a new community project. They are creating a beautiful Remembrance Day display and would love to have a poppy from every street in Wombourne — so why not get creative and make one for your street? 🌹

✨ Poppies can be made from anything you like — felt, knitting, crochet, recycled materials, plastic bottles, printed designs… the possibilities are endless!

Please make sure your poppy is suitable for being displayed outdoors. 🌦️

📮 How to take part:
Pop your finished poppy in an envelope and post it through the Village Hall letterbox.

If it doesn’t fit through the letterbox, please pop it in the porch of Wombourne Village Hall when the building is open.

👉 Don’t forget to include the postcode where your poppy was made!

Get creative this autumn & support Wombourne Best Kept Village!

This autumn, we’re helping the Wombourne community to get creative while giving something back to our beautiful village! 💚

Our Autumn Craft Kits are just £5 each, and £2 from EVERY kit is donated directly to Best Kept Village Wombourne to support the wonderful work they do. 🍂

It’s also a lovely opportunity to get our children involved in their community and help them understand just how much time, effort and care goes into keeping Wombourne clean and tidy!

Behind the flowers, clean spaces and little improvements we see around the village are people giving up their own time to make a difference — and we think that’s something worth teaching our children about!

We are looking for a highly motivated, professional and forward-thinking individual to lead an ambitious Parish Council serving approximately 15,000 residents.

This is a varied and influential senior role, combining strategic leadership, governance, financial management, staff leadership and community engagement, at an important time for the Council as we prepare for the 2027 local elections and future local government reform and devolution.

The NHS Health Check Van is at Wombourne Civic Centre today, just behind the Council Chamber building, so why not pop along.

We’re out and about across Staffordshire this week offering FREE NHS Health Checks 💜

From Monday 7th to Sunday 13th September, our friendly team will be visiting locations across the county, including community centres, family hubs, fire stations, village halls and the Farmers Health Hubs at the Ploughing Matches.

An NHS Health Check is a quick and simple way for anyone over the age of 40 and under 74 who is currently undiagnosed with health issues such as blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes to understand your health and identify potential risks early.
