Our planning agenda for the meeting on 15 June 2026 is now available on our website.
The agenda includes recent correspondence with Guildford Borough Council regarding the decision notice for application 24/P/01125, relating to land at the eastern end of Burntcommon Nurseries, London Road, Send.
As residents may be aware, Cllr Pat Oven led the motion to refuse the application at Guildford Borough Council’s Planning Committee on 4 March 2026. The Committee debate covered a range of concerns, including HGV movements, the suitability of the local road network, hours of operation, cumulative impacts on surrounding villages, and the history of the previously proposed Burntcommon slip roads.
The formal refusal reason, however, has been limited to the suitability of the existing road network, specifically the B2215, under Policy ID1.
Send Parish Council sought clarification from Guildford Borough Council on how the final wording of the decision notice related to the wider concerns raised during the Committee debate. The response received confirms that Guildford Borough Council considers the formal refusal reason to be limited to highway matters only.
Residents interested in this matter can read the correspondence from page 7 of the agenda papers.
