Interesting to read ….as the country’s media focuses on Makerfield, there is another perhaps more important by-election taking place which will impact the future of the UK energy sector ….

Oxfordshire County Concil has confirmed timing of the much needed Eastfield Lane re-surfacing work. There will be traffic disruption and road closures that will also impact the High Street/B471 with a diversion around Goring.
β€’ Wednesday 8th of July until Wednesday 22nd of July – Not full road closures but some disruption is likely for 11 days of Give & Take works to install new kerbing and drainage which will be completed between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00Hrs.
β€’ Thursday 23rd of July until Monday 27th of July – 3 days off-peak full road closure to complete siding out and ironworks adjustment which will be completed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30Hrs. To be clear – Both the High Street will also be closed from 9:30am but will be open for the Whitchurch Primary School run and general rush hours. There will be no work or closures over the weekend.
β€’ Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th of July – 2 full overnight road closures of Eastfield lane and the Hugh street /B471 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00am to resurface the full width of the carriageway and reinstate all existing and legal road markings and lines.

A strong economy is the key to a strong country …it not only brings a sense of belonging and purpose to Britain’s citizens, it also enables us to look after our vulnerable better….

As Keir Starmer's time in office draws to a close, one thing is becoming unmistakably clear: he has not been a man of his word when it comes to Britain's defence.

At a time of growing instability and increasing threats, Britain cannot afford drift, indecision, or empty promises. Yet that is exactly what this Government has delivered. Ministers have talked tough, but they have failed to match their rhetoric with the action needed to keep our country secure.

The country deserves better than broken promises. It deserves a Government prepared to make the tough decisions to keep us all safe.

Please sign this petition and protect the Dartmoor ponies from another attack by this Labour government on our countryside and way of like….😒🐴😒🐴

Natural England, a government organisation, wants to cull thousands of Dartmoor ponies in the name of β€˜biodiversity’.

We cannot let this happen.

Keir Starmer could stop this senseless slaughter. The Labour government must not let an unaccountable quango and its mad ideas kill off Dartmoor’s beloved ponies.

Sign our petition to demand Keir Starmer overrules Natural England, and stops it immediately.

A real pleasure to catch up with Lord Iain McNicol in the House of Lords today.

Since taking on the role at NEMO, I have been genuinely touched by the number of people across the nuclear sector who have reached out to offer help, advice and encouragement.

As Chair of the Nuclear Industry Association, Iain is one of those people - generous with his time, thoughtful in his advice and absolutely committed to seeing the UK nuclear sector succeed.

Thank you, Iain - conversations like these are one of the reasons I’m so optimistic about the future of our sector.

Another very worthwhile gazebo session today - this time in Thame - which was blessed not only with decent weather β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈbut also with a great team, listening to & talking to residents about what matters to them, as well as letting them know that we are the Party with a plan (& a very credible alternative to the LibDem chaos at OCCπŸ˜‰)
