ALL TICKETS NOW GONE!

Parenting a Child with ADHD: Why It Feels So Hard and What Actually Helps

Join Blanka Kellermayer for a talk on parenting a child with ADHD.

Wednesday 17th June 5:30pm-7pm. Tickets are free but must be acquired through Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/parenting-a-child-with-adhd-why-it-feels-so-hard-and-what-actually-helps-tickets-1986983884286?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl

ADHD isn’t just about distraction or hyperactivity. It is a difference in how a child’s brain develops and functions. For many families, this shows up as emotional outbursts, daily battles, and a constant sense of things feeling harder than they should.
In this practical and supportive talk, neuroscientist and parenting coach Blanka Kellermayer will help parents and carers understand what is really going on beneath their child’s behaviour. She will explain why traditional discipline approaches often backfire with ADHD, and what works more effectively instead.
You will learn:
• What is happening in the ADHD brain in simple, relatable terms, so your child’s behaviour starts to make sense
• Why behaviour is not just naughtiness, helping you respond with more confidence and less frustration
• Practical strategies to support emotional regulation, cooperation, and daily routines, so daily battles start to ease and you feel more in control as a parent
Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of their child and practical tools they can use straight away to reduce daily battles, handle meltdowns with more confidence, and bring more calm and cooperation into everyday family life.
Bio
Blanka Kellermayer, PhD, is a neuroscientist and peaceful parenting coach specialising in ADHD, emotional regulation, and brain development. She combines neuroscience with practical, compassionate parenting strategies to help families reduce daily struggles and build stronger connection. As both a scientist and a parent of a child with ADHD, her work is grounded in research and shaped by real life experience.
Blanka believes that when parents understand what is really going on in the ADHD brain, they can move beyond frustration and start supporting their children with more confidence, empathy, and ease. Through her talks, workshops, courses, and one to one coaching, she supports parents to reduce daily battles, strengthen connection, and create calmer, more cooperative family life.

We are excited to be hosting two author talks in April.

First up is Ralph Surman on Thursday 2nd April at 5:30pm
Step inside the world of crime, creativity, and dark humour with Ralph Surman, author of Framed in Blood, for a lively, unforgettable event packed with storytelling, laughter, and audience interaction.

Then we have Kath Crew on Thursday 16th April at 5:30pm
Kath hopes to have written what she enjoys reading herself - humorous fiction which is character and story based but which also may cause the reader to think about the implication of the themes contained. Although pigeonholed as Women's fiction or Book group reads, Kath has had many male readers enjoy the books and they have been appreciated by all age groups.

Free tickets are required and can be booked on Eventbrite, following the links below.
