As the new Community Centre continues to take shape, Section 106 funding allocated specifically for Public Art is now available to help enhance the surrounding grounds. Following consultation sessions and feedback gathered at our pop‑up stall, local artist Michael Condron has been selected to develop proposals.
These early concepts include either a single, striking sculpture or a series of interactive features. We’re pleased to share these initial designs with you and invite your comments to help shape the final artwork.
πƒπžπ¬π’π π§ 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝟏 incorporates sculpted earth mounds to form shapes providing opportunities to sit, relax or explore. There would be several of these around the designated area.
πƒπžπ¬π’π π§ 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝟐 would be a single sweeping tree like feature rising into the sky, full of internal reflective surfaces creating a kaleidoscope of images back to the viewer.

The winning design would be on the land at the Community Centre as you approach from Haygreen Road.

Further information about the artist can be found using the following link where you can explore more of his designs
