As the weather cools, it’s the perfect time to make sure your chimney is clean, safe and ready for use.

Chimney fires are often caused by built-up soot or creosote igniting inside the flue, posing serious risks to your home. Regular sweeping by a certified professional helps prevent fires, improves efficiency and keeps harmful fumes out of your living space.

✅ Sweep your chimney regularly
✅ Clear bird nests and debris
✅ Use a fire guard with open fires
✅ Burn only good quality fuel
✅ Fully extinguish fires before bed or leaving your home
✅ Make sure you have a working smoke alarm on every level of your home

Wood: Quarterly when in use
Coal: Twice a year
Smokeless fuels, oil, gas: At least once a year

The crew at Winterton Fire Station were proud to attend the Remembrance Day service in Winterton on Sunday, standing together with our community to remember those who have served and those who continue to serve today.

FF Key’s son, proudly joined us in laying our wreath during the service, outstanding job 👏🏼
