About our school
We are a specialist school for children aged between 2-19 years with a broad range of physical disabilities, medical needs and associated learning difficulties. Our residential department provides further opportunities for pupils to extend their curriculum and use and apply their life skills in a home from home setting. This page enables us to share current information about our s

Welcome back to Hebden Green! 💚

It’s been wonderful to welcome our pupils and families back to school and see Hebden Green full of smiles, familiar faces and plenty of energy again!

We hope everyone had a lovely summer break. Our pupils have already been busy settling back into their routines, reconnecting with friends and staff, and exploring their environments.

All families should now have received a Welcome Back letter, along with your child’s timetable and curriculum overview for the year ahead. These will give you a little more information about what your child will be learning and experiencing in school.

We’re really looking forward to the year ahead and to sharing all the learning, achievements and special moments along the way.

Look at our new mini drumkit! A huge thank you to Anna Procter (Pathway 1 Lead Teacher) who kindly spotted and collected a drumkit which was being given away for free. Our pupils will absolutely love playing this new drumkit. A huge thank you for your efforts Anna.

🎿 Beyond the Curriculum: Adapted Skiing Experience 🎿

Our Pathway 1 & 2 pupils, parents and staff had a wonderful time at an adapted skiing experience in Manchester as part of this year’s Beyond the Curriculum offer.

It was fantastic to see our pupils embracing a new challenge, developing their confidence and having so much fun alongside their families and school staff. A brilliant and memorable experience for everyone involved! 💙

A huge congratulations to all of our amazing pupils who performed this morning at Hebden’s Got Talent 2026. We are incredibly proud of every single one of you for your confidence, talent, and determination. 🎤✨

Last Friday, we held our 2026 Leavers’ Assembly, celebrating the incredible journey of our wonderful P16 pupils. Together, we reflected on their time at Hebden, from their very first days with us to their final few days as valued members of our school community.

It was a truly special occasion, filled with memories, laughter, and pride as we celebrated all they have achieved. We wish each and every one of our leavers a future filled with happiness, success, and exciting new opportunities.

This year, our pupils are moving on to a range of destinations, including Condover College, David Lewis, CCSW, Derwen College, Meadow Bank, and Canal Street Day Services. We are incredibly proud of them all and can’t wait to see what they achieve next.

🌟 Golden Moments at Hebden Green 🌟

We are so proud to celebrate an incredible achievement this week! 💙

Over the past few days, one of our amazing pupils, Violet, has confidently joined the whole Secondary department for morning and lunchtime play on the back playground. She has explored a much busier social environment, shown curiosity towards new friends, communicated that she wanted to go outside, and, just as importantly, followed instructions to transition safely back to class while remaining calm, happy and ready to learn.

Only a few months ago, this would have felt like an impossible step. Through patience, trust, consistency and the dedication of our staff, she has developed the confidence and regulation skills to embrace these new experiences.

These are the moments that remind us that progress isn't always measured in giant leaps—sometimes it's the quiet moments of growing confidence, independence and belonging that mean the most.

Well done, Violet – we are all so incredibly proud of you! 💙👏
