π Dorset Council Community Transport Grant 2026β2027 is now open!
Funding is now available to help strengthen and develop Dorsetβs community transport network, particularly in rural areas where access to conventional public transport can be limited.
Community transport plays a vital role in helping residents access healthcare, employment, education, shopping and social activities, while also reducing isolation and supporting older and disabled people.
The grant can support projects that help to:

Improve rural accessibility
β
Provide better access to healthcare
β
Reduce social isolation
β
Support older and disabled residents
β
Improve connections to local bus and rail services
β
Develop sustainable, community-based transport solutions
Funding could be used for a range of projects, including volunteer driver mileage, community minibus operating costs, accessible vehicle adaptations, booking and scheduling software, volunteer recruitment campaigns and pilot services for poorly connected communities.
Grants available include:
πΉ Capital grants of up to Β£5,000 (20% match funding required)
πΉ Revenue grants of up to Β£2,500
πΉ Larger revenue grants of up to Β£20,000 (20% match funding required)
Exceptions may be considered for comprehensive applications for grants over Β£20,000.
