Unfortunately, the public toilets at Redcotts will be closed with immediate effect due to a serious act of vandalism. The facility has been left in an unacceptable condition, including dog excrement being smeared on the walls.

The toilets will remain closed while we carry out a thorough clean and work with the police to investigate the incident.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents and visitors for their understanding and patience while we deal with this matter.

Congratulations to Nicky Harper, who was presented with the Wimborne Minster Town Council Volunteer of the Year Award at the Mayor Making Ceremony held at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening.

Presenting the award, Town Mayor Cllr Jeff Hart said:

"Nicky embodies the very best of community volunteering. Her enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to give her time so generously have helped make Wimborne a greener and more vibrant place. She is an inspiration to others, and it is a pleasure to recognise her contribution with this award."

The Volunteer of the Year Award recognises individuals who go above and beyond in supporting their community, and Nicky is a truly deserving recipient.

🎩✨ Mayor Making 2026 ✨🎩

Wimborne Minster Town Council was delighted to re-elect Cllr Jeff Hart as Town Mayor for the 2026/27 civic year at the Mayor Making Ceremony held on Tuesday evening in the historic Town Hall.

The ceremony also saw Cllr Lauren Hector appointed as Deputy Town Mayor, and we wish both every success in their roles over the coming year.

The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on a successful mayoral year, during which Β£10,000 was raised for the Mayor's chosen charities, Millstream Theatre for the Disabled and Dorset Community Action's Young People's Service. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising activities throughout the
year.

We were also delighted to present the Volunteer of the Year Award to Nicky Harper in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the community through her work with Planet Wimborne and Trees of Wimborne. Nicky's dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to making a positive difference in our town make her a truly deserving recipient of this year's award. πŸŒ³πŸ†

Cllr Hart has chosen Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and Waggy Tails Rescue Dorset as his charities for the year ahead, and we look forward to supporting their valuable work within our community.

A special thank you to the Wimborne The Wimborne Militia for their attendance, helping to make the occasion both memorable and steeped in tradition.

Congratulations to the Mayor Cllr Hart and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Hector as they begin the new civic year serving our wonderful town. πŸŽ‰
