Dorset FA, Dorset Police and other partners are working together to help tackle abuse in football, and we need your support. ⚽

We’re asking you to share your experiences in football so we can help shape a campaign focused on tackling spectator abuse, particularly towards females in the game.

Your responses will be managed by Dorset FA but shared with Dorset Police as we work together to identify solutions and take positive action to improve the environment in the game we all love.

Grassroots football plays a vital role in bringing our communities together, and it’s essential that everyone, players, officials, volunteers, and supporters feel safe, respected, and valued. Together, we can help make football a safer, more welcoming space for everyone.

APPEAL | We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a reported assault and criminal damage incident in Verwood.

It was reported that between 3pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026 a woman aged in her 20s was driving in her vehicle, a grey Nissan Qashqai, in the area of Manor Road towards the Manor Roundabout and then onto Burnbake Road towards The Grove.

During the journey her male passenger, who was known to the victim, is reported to have become aggressive and started smashing items inside the vehicle before assaulting the victim.

He is then reported to have got out of the vehicle on Burnbake Road and made off on foot.

Following enquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault and he has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.

Police Constable Poppy Norman, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to please contact us.

“I would also urge any motorists who were in the area around the relevant time to please check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260082016. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

This week patrols have continued to take place around Corfe Mullen and Wimborne, focusing on community engagement and reassurance patrols.

Today, I joined local Corfe Mullen councillors for a community engagement at Corfe Mullen Library. It was lovely to meet and speak with everyone who came along to chat, raise concerns, and find out more about local policing and community issues.

Thank you to all those who took the time to stop by and speak with us. Your feedback and conversations are always appreciated and help us continue to support our communities effectively ❤️

See you around 🙂

It was lovely to catch up with the community at the Mobile Police Station today, which was situated outside the Heritage Centre on Ringwood Road, Verwood. There were numerous dogs that visited the MPS and they seemed very happy that the weather had cooled down!

There were concerns from the community regarding thefts of electric bikes, attempt thefts from sheds, anti social behaviour and concerns from local residents regarding cars turning right out of Manor Road, Verwood . Turning right at this junction is a traffic offence and may result in receiving a fixed penalty ticket and a fine.

We urge members of the public to continue reporting incidents to us and informing us of anything illegal that is going on in their street. If we don't know about it, we wont be able to help.

The Police also spoke to several persons regarding joining the Police as a PCSO or Police officer. Please look on Dorset Police website under vacancies.

Good evening,

Pc Julia 1757 and PCSO Juliet 7853 have carried out both foot and mobile patrols across Verwood, Alderholt and Three Legged Cross over the past few days.

During foot patrol in Verwood, we had the pleasure of meeting a lovely Shetland pony and her owner who were out walking in the town.

During our patrols, we have attended a number of safe and well checks, conducted several stop checks, and dealt with a harassment -related incident this evening.

We have also carried out targeted anti-social behaviour (ASB) patrols in response to local concerns, and will continue a visible presence across the area.

If you have any concerns or information you would like to share with us please get in touch via https://orlo.uk/zOloR

Thank you and enjoy the rest of the evening.

🚓🌳 This morning, PCSOs Adam and James were at Moors Valley Country Park holding a community contact point.

It was fantastic to speak with so many local families, answer questions about policing, and chat about the work we do in the community. 👮‍♂️👮‍♂️

Children were excited to have a sit inside the Police car and learn more about how we help keep our communities safe. 🚔😊

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. Due to the popularity of today's event, we are looking at holding another similar community engagement event during the Summer Holidays, so keep an eye on our page for updates! ☀️🌳
