🌍 This week May’s temperature record was shattered by over 2 degrees.

The sweltering heat is a stark reminder of the accelerating and brutal nature of climate change.

Yet, there’s a backlash against green policies, talking down of renewable energy and renewed calls to expand oil and gas drilling in the North Sea.

Abandoning net zero would be a disaster for the planet and would put us at much greater risk of price shocks and energy insecurity.

The solution to the cost of living and energy crises is to speed up the green transition, curb the eye watering profits of fossil fuel giants and tackle the rampant inequality that leaves so many behind.

The system is broken. What we need is bold and ambitious leadership that will radically change politics and transform our country.

Stand with us. Help us take on powerful vested interests and build a better future for our children and grandchildren.

It’s been a glorious bank holiday weekend and we hope you have managed to enjoy some time in one of our wonderful parks or outdoor spaces. Many of these parks rely on volunteers to keep them neat and tidy. Here’s our own Bingley Town Councillor Rachael Drucquer volunteering with the Friends of Myrtle Park.

If you have a couple of hours to spare then volunteering is a great way to give back whilst spending your time with like minded people who care about their community.

We have links with many voluntary organisations in Bingley and Bradford. If you are at a lose end please get in touch and we can help point you in the right direction.

These aren’t “luxury issues” — they affect everyday quality of life.

Bingley West is the one in the middle next to the two darker green ones. 🌱 Just over a week ago, the Greens missed out there by just 192 votes.

That shows how close Bingley West is. 💚 A few more Green votes could make all the difference next time.
