Following today's earlier post some better news... at the meeting of the Parish Council last night they voted unanimously (with some persuasion) to approve the completion of phase 2 of the playground - this is the area for the over 12s. This will be the final phase of the project which has taken over 5 years of consultation, fundraising and hard work. We can't wait for it to be completed. Thank you for all your ongoing support and particularly to the young people who recently wrote letters to the Council reiterating the need for the second phase for the older children. This is really fabulous news and we are very excited!

We have been informed that there was an incident yesterday of someone leaving human waste in the under 5s area. It should go without saying that this is totally unacceptable and a thoughtless act. It is disgusting for the person who has to clear it up and a potential health hazard to all. If there are any repeats of this it may be that the area has to be closed off. Please be aware of what your children are doing when playing in the park and if you see anything like this happening please stop it immediately and let us know. We want to keep our park lovely for all to use and ask for your help in doing this. Thank you.

Congratulations to all the teams from yesterday's fantastic event. A massive thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who made it happen, we hope to be able to publish a total sum soon.

Community Event Sunday 17th July 2016
A number of corporate, community and individual teams have already signed up to this year's It's a Knockout event which will take place on the Willingham recreation ground on Sunday 17th July. For those who missed the event two years ago you will see from the photos that it is a great opportunity to have a lot of fun at the same time as raising valuable funds for the QEII playground and the Willingham Youth Centre. We are confident that the success of this event will enable the completion of the QEII playing field with an area for the over-12s of the village.
This year we are also planning to produce a brochure for the event. If your business or organisation is unable to sponsor or field a team for the day but would still like to make a contribution to this fantastic cause, why not advertise your business in the brochure? We have a number of advertisement options available starting from just £50. Get in touch to arrange this by emailing [email protected].
We also have space for a limited number of children only teams. These teams need to be made up of 8-16 year olds only (minimum of 8 people per team). The cost of the children-only teams is £200. This is payable in advance and will not be available on the day. Email [email protected] to secure your team.
