🥰🥰🥰As a charity, we simply could not operate without volunteers! Thank you so much to the following volunteers for their dedication and commitment to keeping Wigton Baths open and accessible to the whole community:
💗Friends Of Wigton Baths - individuals from the community who answer the call when there's a job to do. Fundraising events, grass cutting and weeding, decorating, repairs, and so much more!
💗Swim Club coaches - training children to be prepared for competitive swimming every week!
💗Trustees - the committee of individuals who do the "behind the scenes" work to keep the business side of the charity functional.
🥰We would LOVE to welcome new volunteers into Wigton Baths Trust. In particular, we are keenly looking for new Trustee members as we must keep a minimum of 3 committee members (law from the Charity Commission), which we will not have come November when one of our current members is stepping down at the AGM, meaning we will only have 2 members and are legally obliged to close down without minimum committee member numbers met. We DO NOT want to close down the amazing facility of Wigton Baths which serves 15 local primary and secondary schools, hundreds of children in the Swim England Learn to Swim programme, and so many members of the community from all walks of life and ages. We do not want to close on this monumental year of celebrating our 125th anniversary (did you know most pools in the UK average on a life expectancy of 40 years..?!), but the reality is if we do not get new members joining the Trust in the next few months then legally we will be forced to close. PLEASE consider if you have a couple of hours spare a week and want to help an amazing local facility....PLEASE get in contact. Our current 3 members of the Trust would be more than happy to chat to you if you're interested and have questions. 😊
