Today, twelve pupils from across Years 3-6 received 'Faithful Singer' badges. These pupils use their voices to show love for God, singing with joy, passion and a full heart in every assembly and celebration.
Well done to all!

St. Bede's staff will continue to be on the lookout for more faithful singers and award badges throughout the school year.

Congratulations to the shortlisted pupils who attended the dot-art schools prize-giving ceremony at the magnificent St. George's Hall in Liverpool yesterday.

It was a wonderful opportunity to join with other schools and celebrate art in all its forms.

The first placed entries from each school are now displayed in a public exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery until 5th July 2026.

How can we write without a pen?

Year 5 did just that on ‘No Pen Day’.

They crafted poems inspired by The Highwayman, selecting vocabulary from a word bank and deciding how to organise their ideas. They rehearsed and performed their poems to their classmates, and some even added actions and sound effects!

Here are a few photos and videos from National Numeracy Day on Wednesday. Everyone enjoyed the whole school assembly, which focused on being resilient and philosophical thinkers. In classes, all children enjoyed a range of practical, problem-solving challenges and games.

Reminder: Please submit any entries for the three maths challenges set this week by the end of the first week back after half term. (Some pupils in Year 5 have already had a go at learning and performing the times tables pop songs!)

This problem has been shared with children today in school. It certainly raises lots of questions and requires a bit of thinking!

Why not discuss this together at home and record your ideas in the National Numeracy family scrapbook?

How many creative ways can you find to solve this problem?
How can you present your solutions?

Mrs. Wainwright can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Congratulations to the pupils who, yesterday, were awarded 'Disciples of Love' badges. This new award celebrates the children of St. Bede's who try to make other people feel loved, valued and cared for because that is what Jesus did. School staff were invited to nominate children who love and serve others, and throughout the rest of the term (and future school years), will be on the lookout for more children who are living daily as disciples of love.
