Cllr. Jan McEwan MBE - Lib Dem, Wick and East Caithness Highland Liberal Democrats
Highland Council Councillor for
Wick and East Caithness (Ward 3) In addition, I have in the past been a trustee for CAB and CASWA.

I was elected as a local councillor for Wick and East Caithness (Ward 3) in May 2022 representing the Liberal Democrats. I moved to Wick in 1994 to take up the position of Sheriff Clerk with the Scottish Court Service and retired in 2018 after 30 years with the Scottish Court Service. I best known as a disability rights campaigner as well as my other charity work. As such, I’m a founder member of

MS People Caithness and I sit on Caithness Disabled Access Panel. My priorities lie with Caithness, I continue to tackle local issues in a bid to build more sustainable communities for my constituents, including (but not limited to):
• Stopping centralisation of services;
• Improved health services;
• More powers to the local areas;
• Fairer funding over all services;
• Fairer business rates;
• Better infrastructure and amenities;
• Securing employment and development opportunities;
• Tackling depopulation; and
• Combat adverse tourist effects.
