Very pleased to have been part of The Gather's best year yet!

⭐️ HAPPY NEW YEAR ⭐️

Thank you to everyone who helped make 2019 our best year yet, we had an amazing year welcoming new suppliers, bat hunting, recycled crafting, creative writing, river dipping, quizzing, candle developing, wreath making, silversmithing, orient expressing and a fair few Merry Neets! And that’s without all the volunteering, cake eating and coffee drinking ✨

We are so very grateful for all of your support, without you we couldn’t achieve what we do!

✨THANK YOU✨

What a summer of fun, music and creativity it's been in the Ennerdale Valley in 2019! An inspiring programme of creative events, celebrating the wildness of Ennerdale's natural environment, and its cultural heritage.

Part of the project's legacy is a 'Cultural Map' of the valley, with short videos of some of the things we've got up to on the project. You can explore it on our website: www.mouthfulway.co.uk/creative-ennerdale. For best results, explore it on a computer rather than a tablet or a phone, so you can zoom in and out of the map.

If you've been involved, or attended any of our events, please take 10 minutes over a cuppa to share your experience, by completing a short survey: https://forms.gle/ZfeRrbFggTUbqosx5

Thanks to Arts Council England, National Trust and Wild Ennerdale for supporting the project!

Our new community play (at 11:30 and 19:30) tells the story of the last Merry Neet at the Anglers' Hotel in Ennerdale in 1968 before it was demolished. Here's local historian Tony Calvin with a potted history of the Anglers', including artefacts salvaged from the site and a series of postcards showing the hotel through its history...

Local Historian remembers the Anglers' Hotel on the shores of Ennerdale Water, through memories, artefacts and poistcards.

coming along nicely!
These are for a new piece of community drama, next Saturday at . It’s called ‘The Gathering’, and tells the story of the (fictionalised) last night at The Angler’s Hotel in Ennerdale before it was demolished in 1968.
Words by Steve Wharton, music by Dave Camlin, and clog dancing by me, all involving locals in the performance.
There are bands and sessions all day, including the world premiere of the papier-mâché set 😁.
Tickets from eventbrite, I think. You can search The Gathering in FB events for more info.
