What a busy weekend it's been - and as Rose recovers from the UK Triathlon Kids Fun Event at Alderford Lake yesterday, Cllr Andy Hall stepped in to represent the Mayor in a visit to the Whitchurch Canal Festival, judging 'Best Boat', amongst other things, alongside Deputy Lord Lieutenant Tullis Matson and members of the Whitchurch Waterway Trust ...

We're so fortunate that there are so many voluntary groups and individuals willing to give their time to create wonderful events for locals and visitors, as well as looking after our town's heritage, including the Whitchurch Canal Arm, for everyone to enjoy all year round!

There's still a couple of hours left at the Canal Festival - why not pop along and show your support?

The Mayor of Whitchurch, Cllr Rose Hall, put on her running shoes this morning and had a wonderful time at Alderford Lake where she presented medals to all the participants in the UK Triathlon Kids Fun Event ... and the cracking weather added to a fantastic atmosphere!

Congratulations to everyone who arranged a very well organised, safe and enjoyable event - and well done to all the kids who participated! 👏👏

It's always a pleasure to be involved in this event ... and 'reserved parking' too!

❤️ THANK YOU, WHITCHURCH! ❤️

Well… it was a wet and soggy one! ☔️😂

But despite the rain, the puddles and the very British weather, so many of you still came out, browsed the stalls, supported our incredible local businesses, listened to the fantastic music and helped make today so special 🛍️❤️

We genuinely can’t thank you enough.

Every purchase, every chat, every share and every person who braved the weather means more than you know to the small businesses who were there today 🥹

You could have stayed at home… but you didn’t.

And that’s exactly what makes Whitchurch so special ❤️

Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for supporting JDL. And thank you for making the most of a very soggy Saturday! ☔️🙌

Until next time, Whitchurch… ❤️

ANONYMOUS have taken to the stage to bring this year's Late Summer Party Party in the Park to a close!!

It's not been the best of days (understatement!) - disappointing after the weeks of sunshine ... but that's the British weather for you!!

That said, we've have a great time - huge thanks to everyone who has lent a hand to bring you this FREE, local community event ... our staff team, volunteers, traders, charities, food & drink stalls and others, including JDL Events and Blackberry Fair ... and, of course thank to those who dodged the showers to enjoy an afternoon of family fun!!

Don't forget there's still time to join us for final song or two, we're here until 6pm!

We will do it all again next year, but will pray for ☀️!!

A gallery will follow when we receive the photos ...
