Well, as the saying goes… all good things must come to an end.
Sadly, the time has come for us to close our station page.
Just over eight years ago, we were invited to set up this page as part of a trial for social media use within North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. What started as a simple trial has grown into something far more meaningful than we could ever have expected.
Over the years this page has become far more than just updates and photos. It’s been a place to share our jobs, our training, our milestones, and the moments that make our station what it is. From incidents and exercises to community events and new recruits — it’s been a way of showing you what your local firefighters do.
To our nearly 3,000 followers, our community, and our families — thank you. Your support, encouragement and engagement has meant more to us than you probably realise.
Although the page is closing, nothing else changes. We are still here — training, drilling, developing our skills and ready to respond to our community whenever we are needed.
Please keep an eye out for us in local publications and on the new District Page that will be set up and run by the Service’s media team.
And finally, a bit of exciting news to leave you with. For the first time in the station’s history, we are likely to have 15 firefighters at the station by the end of 2026. At a time when many stations across the county and the country are struggling for numbers, this is something we’re incredibly proud of.
So although this page is closing, the station is stronger than ever.
And in case we don’t see you… good afternoon, good evening, and good night.
