‼️Church Rd Rec Update‼️
Work continues with watering the turf 🌱which is rooting well. We are pleased to say the play area will be officially opened on Friday 22nd May 2026 🥳 just in time for half term, and the lovely weather ☀️

Cadet Hut Consultation

As you may be aware, the Council will be signing a lease for the use of the Cadet Hut on Littleworth Road. We very much welcome your views as to its use and are conducting a consultation. The consultation can be found on our website, link below, and can be filled in online. Alternatively, the consultation will be available in hard copy at the office. The deadline is the 3rd of July 2026.

Three to four years ago, Wheatley Parish Council (WPC) began looking for a space to expand services and storage for the benefit of the village. Initially it was thought that the office would move away from the centre of the village at the Merry Bells, but the benefit of being close to the shops and....

‼️Church Road Rec update‼️
The equipment is in and is due its safety inspection tomorrow. All being well we will open 12-2pm on Monday 4th May for the May Day celebrations.
We will then need to close for a minimum of 3 weeks so the new turf can have time to root ready for all the footfall it will have.
It’ll be worth the wait!

The day will go as follows:
10am- singing of the May Day Song (see attached picture)
Crowning of the Lord & Lady
Morris Dancers
Maypole Dancing
Swiss Roll
General Dancing
Lock Up open from 11am-1pm
Play Area open 12pm-2pm

It’s back! Wheatley May Day celebrations 🥳 Monday 4th May 2026, from 10am, Church Rd Rec. Including the traditional May Pole Dancing by the Primary School, hot food by Hickman’s Butcher’s 🌭🍔🥓, hot drinks, cakes, and the Wheatley Lock Up open to see inside 😬👮 and ofcourse the return of the Wheatley Morris Dance Group 💝🌼
