We didn't have time to take lots of pictures through out the day so just a quick snap ☺️. We would like to say a huge thank you to worles community who came along to support Avon wildlife trust and to the wonderful Kelly from Avon Wildlife Trust who worked very hard today to capture all the community's ideas 🦔🐦‍⬛🌳 also a big thank you to Alliance Homes Group who gave us the use of 11 feniton for the day ☺️. Thank you for all who were involved ( so many people who put such effort in for today)

Big Worle legacy commissioned a local artist Jo Fina Green to work with children at becket primary school
Jo based her idea on famous artists each child painted a canvas of their own with only one tiny rule it had to contain a heart, as this project was called wild about the hearts

There were lots of winners … a bronze, silver and gold from each class and one aspiring artist from the whole exhibition

Jenson Donna Godfrey won a prize from his class and Bella Carla Watts won aspiring artist
Both these children have also attended Jo’s workshops previously funding by big worle so their inner artist paid off,
The judges had a hard job as there were so many beautiful pieces of work and we’ve heard it took them quite a while to chose their winners.

Well done to both of you 🎉

A massive thank you to jo who continues to work hard and we are all very proud of the work you have done not only with becket but with everything you have done as part of big worle and personally

Today the team had the absolute pleasure in presenting a cheque for £8920.74 to Weston Hospicecare as part of our legacy

We know the fabulous work that hospice care do for patients and their families of Weston super mare and beyond,

As a team we have all been touched by the kindness and support that we have received by all the staff, so when deciding who we would like to help it was a unanimous decision this money will go a long way to help and will make a massive difference to the centre.

Now that “big worle” has closed its doors to our community we are still working behind the scenes with our legacy projects

We therefore have changed our name from Big Worle hub to Big Worle legacy group

We thank you all for your support over the years and we hope you will continue to follow us on our legacy journey and check in on our updates as they come

Hello followers 👋

Big Worle may have closed to the community but we have still been working behind the scenes

A couple of years ago we carried out some community consultations to listen to you .. our community about what you would like to see/happen.

So.. one of our last legacy projects has now been installed at castle batch

A GREEN GYM 🎉🎉
We are having an open day ::

Where: castle batch
When: Saturday 24th January
Time: 12 noon

Everyone is welcome to the launch it will be attended by the big worle team, and some of our partners and a whole community

We have to thank The National Lottery Community Fund because without their funding we wouldn’t of been able to get this project up and running

Although big worle is closed please know Big Worle are still here to help the community in what ever way we're are able too. As a community we have had the most devastating loses, one of a young man just a few weeks ago and yesterday a young girl that undoubtedly ment a lot to so many people in the community.
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all the family, friends and community effected by their passing.
