Inspired by the seasons and fresh produce from the Walled Garden, our Head Chef and his brigade create delicious menus for you to enjoy. 💎40 Gems for 40 Years…

To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we’ve uncovered 40 special “Gems” hidden across the estate. Every week, we’ll be sharing four gems from the trail so you can find out more about our rich history!

💎 The Secret Staircase – This hidden staircase, just off Plane Tree Lawn, would have been used by the family to get out into the wider parkland.

💎 The Formal Gardens Fountain - The Italian Garden, including the Fountain, were restored and re-imagined, with significant re-designing of the terrace planting taking place in 1991.

💎 Sweet Chestnut Trees – This tree is one of the oldest trees on the estate and dates back to before the House was built.

💎 Pendrell’s Cave - Pendrell’s Cave is an 18th-century feature in the Shrewsbury Walk Pleasure Ground. It was said to be home to a hermit called Pendrell, linked in legend to the Boscobel House servants who helped the King escape after the Battle of Worcester in 1651.

📖 Monday 15th June - Books of Their Time: Volumes that reflect the attitudes and humour of earlier generations

📖 Monday 6th July - Buildings in Their Time: How architecture has been remembered and imagined.

📖 Monday 20th July - Living Things: Illustrated works published over the last two hundred years – plants, insects and extraordinary birds captured in ink and colour.

📖 Monday 3rd August - A Family who Travelled: We will trace journeys abroad; books gathered in Spain, letters sent home, and photographic postcards from Rome.
