Weston-super-Mare Town Council

Weston-super-Mare Town Council Weston-super-Mare Town Council is the civil "parish" council for Weston-super-Mare. Please see our website www.wsm-tc.gov.uk for more information.

The 31 councillors are elected exclusively by the people of Weston-super-Mare and work for the town. Weston Town Council is the only democratically elected body exclusively representing the civil "parish" and people of Weston-Super-Mare, including Worle and Uphill. There are 31 councillors elected every 4 years who take no allowances, as well as a small number of employed staff to implement their

decisions. The Council is entirely independent of North Somerset Council and raises its own budget to spend on services and facilities that the people of Weston want.

The Weston Independent Market will be back at The Italian Gardens on Sunday, 29th March! 🥳

The new weekly market was part of Weston-super-Mare Town Council's strategic plan, which aligns with the ten-year Super Weston Placemaking Strategy, a vision shaped through engagement with thousands of local residents, where the wish for a permanent weekly market was a top priority. This Council-led initiative brought fresh energy into the town centre, supported local traders, attracted visitors, and helped boost the local economy.

Get the date in your diary and come along!

Welcome to the Weston Independent Market, where you can buy direct from a selection of incredible local producers.

💷 2026/27 Budget Breakdown -

We know that for many households things feel stretched right now and we don’t take that lightly.

Through careful and responsible financial planning, we are pleased to deliver a balanced 2026/27 budget with NO increase on last year’s precept value for the Town Council element or your council tax.

This reflects what you’ve told us matters most.

◾️ We will continue investing in the services and spaces that make Weston special — supporting our community, local businesses and promoting our town. That includes keeping access free to our toilets, play areas (excluding the seasonal water park), Weston Museum, Old Town Quarry, and our town markets and events.

◾️ We know that the town centre and a strong visitor economy benefit everyone, so we will continue to support tourism and town promotion alongside the community services residents value every day.

◾️ We remain committed to making your money go further. By continually reviewing what we do - and how we do it - we can improve, progress and ensure every pound delivers real value for Weston.

◾️ And we’ll keep working positively with North Somerset Council to protect important services for our town where we can, always making thoughtful, time considered, affordable and sustainable decisions.
