As you can see it was the Lib Dem’s and Horwich & Blackrod First that put Labour back in.

WHO GOVERNS BOLTON DETERMINES WHO RUNS WESTHOUGHTON

Well first the good news, the Conservative candidate and my ward colleague Andy Morgan was elected Chair of Planning, defeating the Labour nominee. This happened because opposition parties came together and defeated Labour, except The Lib Dem’s, who voted once again for Labour, if you vote Lib Dem you really are voting for a Labour Council.

In spite of the Lib Dem’s this is a good result because the chair of the planning committee matters.

Now the very bad news, the Bolton Labour Party will continue to run Bolton for another 12 months, they couldn’t have done it without the support of Westhoughton’s 2 Lib Dem councillors who VOTED FOR LABOUR. We have said it before but now it needs underlining so for clarity

IF YOU VOTE LIB DEM IN WESTHOUGHTON YOU ARE NOT OPPOSING LABOUR YOU ARE SUPPORTING THEM.

Whatever the priorities of Westhoughton are I can’t believe they are to continue supporting a failing Labour Council that has done so much damage to our town.

Stopping IX Wireless, stopping the sale of Wayfaring, bring BWFC to Wingates, Investment in Wingates Park and to the Hunger Hill estate, High School Pen-Pal, and of course fighting Development.

Councillor Martin Tighe is right, Ryder Cup or not, there is serious money behind this project.
This IS about a Golf Club.
If membership of existing clubs drop, Peel will snap up that land like a shot.
How many golf clubs do we have in a 10mile radius?
How many houses is that if they close?

The Liberal Democrat and Labour coalition band together against the unveiling of Westhoughtons newest statues.

"This was a coming together of Westhoughton, outside of politics"
Says Councillor Martin Tighe

Cllr Tighe who lead the campaign in support of these statues in face of fierce opposition from the Liberal Democrat ran Town Council.

Although the planning application passed via majority decision lead by cllr Tighe, the Liberal Democrats remain spit on the decision.
Now months later Liberal Democrats and Labour are still fighting that decision.

We believe these statues are a great addition to Westhoughton.
Its a shame other parties refused to be photographed although their attendance was appreciated.
