Would your child like to get into golf this summer? JOLF in the Park sessions are fun, inclusive and completely free of charge. They are open to everyone, regardless of age, ability or previous experience. Families can simply turn up, take part and enjoy playing together. The sessions build on their successful work in local schools, specialist settings and community programmes, helping more children become active, build confidence, improve wellbeing and enjoy positive experiences outdoors.

Locally, there are JOLF (Junior Golf) sessions in East Grinstead at Mount Noddy on Thursday 6th August and at East Court on Thursday 20th August, both 1pm to 3pm. All the equipment is provided and you don't have to book. Just turn up and have a go!

You can find more details here: https://jolf.golf/

Does your company take part in community initiatives? We'd love to hear from you!

Taking part in a corporate litter pick in the local community offers valuable benefits for both your staff and our residents. For employees, it provides an opportunity to work together outside the usual work environment, strengthening teamwork, communication and morale. It can also boost wellbeing, as spending time outdoors and contributing to a positive cause increases motivation and pride in the organisation. For the local community, the event helps create a cleaner, safer and more attractive environment, improving public spaces for everyone. It also demonstrates corporate social responsibility, showing that the company cares about its surroundings and is committed to making a real difference.

Worth Parish Council can provide litter-picking equipment and point your team towards specific areas that would benefit particularly well from a clean-up.

We'd love to give your company a mention on our page, too, which has a local following of more than 1,000 people.

Problems such as fly tipping, graffiti, potholes, broken paving stones and the like need to be reported to the authorities, of course, but it's not always clear which authority handles which issue. If you're not sure, there's a website that can accept reports AND pass them on to the correct organisation.
It's called fixmystreet, and you can access it by clicking here; https://www.fixmystreet.com/
You can reports matters anonymously if you wish, but if you want progress updates you will need to include your email address when reporting.

If you're concerned about speeding vehicles in our towns and villages, there's a national initiative that is always looking for volunteers to help make our streets safer. Community Speedwatch is having a positive impact on reducing offences, cutting casualty numbers and increasing public awareness of the need to drive sensibly.
To find out more, you can visit communityspeedwatch.org or, if you live in Copthorne or Crawley Down, send WPC an email at [email protected]

: Speeding has reached epidemic proportions and calls for a paradigm shift in the way we tackle it. That shift must include a change in the perception and management of community volunteers involvement with road safety. https://web2.communityspeedwatch.org/FRONT-v2-The_Scheme.php...
