We've been informed that vehicles will be prohibited from entering the service road at the Station Road junction by Flooring Elegance, Payless West Moors and Pink Velvet Nails & Beauty on Sunday the 21st June between 09:30 and 15:30.

This will enable Openreach to carry out cabling works on the highway. Works are anticipated to be completed the same day.

We've been informed that Dorset Council Waste Services experienced two vehicle breakdowns within their recycling fleet yesterday. As a result, they had to deploy substitute vehicles that were not equipped to collect glass.

Please leave your glass bins out in view - crews will be working later each day this week and aim to complete all outstanding glass collections by Friday at the latest.

As part of Volunteers' Week, we hosted an afternoon tea yesterday to celebrate some of the many people in West Moors who generously give their time to our community.

It was wonderful to bring together volunteers from across our community - including Councillors and our regular volunteers plus representatives from local charities, churches, clubs and community groups - to celebrate the countless ways they support and enrich life in West Moors.

Guests enjoyed scones, sandwiches and cake, plenty of tea and conversation, and entertainment from Sally Singer and Musician . Thanks to Pinehurst Community Church for the use of their excellent facilities, including their fantastic new café space.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us. Your dedication, kindness and community spirit help make West Moors the wonderful place it is.

The Town Council have just awarded a grant of £750 to assist with the running costs of a not-for-profit transport service operating in the area, Dial A Ride Wimborne.

Run entirely by volunteers, their aim is to help to meet the transport needs of people who due to age, illness, low income or disability cannot easily use public transport and do not have access to any other suitable means of transport. If you or someone you know needs (or wants!) to get somewhere and would otherwise struggle, call Dial A Ride on 01202 880699 to see if they can help.
