Just had a chat with the careers bus people - and learned they are going to work with Brentford Towers (the council estate) on Thursday
- so it made me think about how we can have better outreach our end of the borough and not get left behind - so I’ve given her a list of community champions who I hope will be able to give some ideas- I don’t want this to be political fodder before the elections- so will work on discussing more with community champions the elections - but I was thinking places like Sparrow Farm, Yellow Brick Estate - more publicity by councillors and community champions on Facebook so we all get to use the bus

One thing would be to rebrand it - Not sure people like the name careers coach - better ideas discussed would be “community bus” - so have things like IT learning, keeping people safe on the internet (advice for parents), healthy eating etc also so it’s a wider reach

We are very lucky to have the team to help us - they are fabulous, friendly, down to earth, approachable and really care - so everyone’s help will be needed.

Today is Shakespeare Day and it’s also St George's Day.

The perfect opportunity to remind you of the Mayor of London’s Culture Strategy survey.

The Mayor would like to know more about how you experience culture in London. Are you making the most of what’s on offer? What could the Mayors office do to encourage more Londoners to take part?

How can we ensure more Londoners take part in cultural activities? Are you making the most of what London’s culture has got to offer? What are the biggest challenges facing London’s culture?

We have given our feedback - key to ask for contributions to the community- we would like and have fed back directly today for the following:

- Social mobility - more active recruitment in the local five boroughs - promotions internally- to give our local people training for the higher paid positions

- End to zero hours contracts - work on the supplier contracts

- Work on the emissions eg priortise low emission taxis / cabs over polluting ones đźš•

- good corporate citizen - have some of the top people at heathrow sit as governors in our local schools

- IF the 3rd runway goes ahead - employe locals to build it - do not do what happened with terminal 5 where few got a look in

Cage Park, Bedfont Lane, Bedfont, - the refurbishment was going to happen in January 2018, but with Carillion going bankrupt, it resulted in a delay.

We are delighted to announce we are now in the pre- tender stage for this park to get an upgrade.

Further details on timelines will be promoted shortly and listed on the Councils parks development webpage as soon as they become available.

We can not wait !
