Our nursery children have been enjoying a wonderful Forest School session, exploring the natural world through hands-on learning. Under close supervision and with appropriate safety guidance, the children had the opportunity to use a saw to cut wood.

Forest School provides rich opportunities for children to follow their curiosity, take managed risks, and learn through first-hand experiences.

A group of children in nursery had a wonderful time making clay snails and bringing them to life with treasures they collected from nature. They have created such a beautiful piece of art, each snail with its own personality and charm! ๐ŸŒ

Spirals, spirals, and more spirals ๐ŸŒ€

So many different ways to make a spiral, experimenting with a range of media and cooking. We love how each one turns out completely unique! The watercolour snails look beautiful! ๐ŸŒ€

Inspired by the beautiful spirals found on snail shells, the children enjoyed creating their own spiral artwork ๐ŸŒ€๐ŸŒ

The children have really enjoyed observing snails today. As part of their learning, they have been practising the Makaton signs for snail and spiral, and it was wonderful to see these concepts brought to life through real-world experiences.

Hands-on learning opportunities like these help children make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them. ๐Ÿ’š

Our nursery children loved working together to create giant beanstalks during our focus on growing. This gave them many opportunities for teamwork, imagination, and creativity!

How incredible are these duckling paintings that were created by a group of our nursery children. The children had a real life experience with the ducklings and then they were given the opportunity to create their own representations.
