A Squadron can't run without the Adult Volunteers, they are the backbone of the Squadron. Weather that is as Commanding Officer, Uniformed staff, Civillians instructor or Civillian Committee. Each and every one is responsible for their part to give the cadets a great experience.

Some testaments of ex cadets who came back as Staff.

CI Adriaans:

I used to be an air cadet at 1166 squadron for 7 years and left 2021. I missed cadets enough that i decided to return as staff, and i’ve had zero
regrets in doing so. it’s been great being able to renew my old skills such as my First aid, and meeting new people. the best part about being staff is that although i’m a shift worker, i’m still able to come down without pressure, which is reassuring to know when life gets busy

CI Bridgeland:

I chose to become a staff member at 1166 Welwyn Squadron because, as a former cadet myself, I wanted the opportunity to give back to an organisation that played such an important role in my development. The Air Cadets provided me with a wide range of opportunities, experiences and skills while I was growing up, and I wanted to help provide the same positive experience and opportunities to the next generation of cadets.

Within RAFAC we follow the core values of RISE

At the very start of their cadet career, Cadets give their cadet promise. Part of this promise is to follow the core values and and to give to the community.

Our Cadets do this by helping the local RBL Branch with poppy appeal , Remembrance Services, Bag packs, ATC Sunday and many more ways.
