As part of our regular estate inspections, we check in and around your building to make sure communal areas are safe and clear of any items. When furniture and bulky items are dumped in and around communal areas it:

🔥 creates a fire risk for you and your neighbours
💷 costs money to clear, which is money that could be better spent on improving your home
❌ prevents our cleaning and grounds maintenance contractors from being able to clean communal areas

Calling all gateway members 📣

Our next annual general meeting (AGM) is coming up on Monday 14 September! This will be our first AGM since Watford Community Housing and Thrive Homes merged to form Chime Housing, and is your chance to have a say on the future of our organisation.

All customers who signed up to become a member before 30 June 2026 will have been sent an information pack via post or email. 🏳️‍🌈On 22 August, we were delighted to sponsor Herts Pride and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at Cassiobury Park.🏳️‍🌈

As the newly merged organisation, we’re proud to continue the long-standing support for Herts Pride previously provided by Watford Community Housing for the past 13 years.

It was great to meet residents, chat about the support we offer, and celebrate alongside local organisations and volunteers.

Events like Herts Pride help us connect with our communities and celebrate the diversity that makes Hertfordshire such a great place to live.

Your voice helps shape our services, decisions and future priorities. Over 2025/26, we listened to customers in a number of different ways to help shape the decisions that matter to them:

⭐ Watford Community Housing engaged with 5,941 people at community events – averaging around 495 per month.
⭐ Thrive Customer Voice members were involved throughout the competitive selection process for choosing our new repairs contractor, PiLON. This helped us assess what a good service looks like from a resident’s perspective.
⭐ 84,235 people used Watford Community Housing’s community hubs.
⭐ Thrive Customer Voice influenced how Thrive Homes developed clear, accessible information on their aids and adaptations policy and processes.

As we move forward as Chime Housing, we want every resident to have an even stronger voice in shaping our services and future direction. You can find out more about how we use customer engagement to shape our services below.
