The Watford YCs are delighted to announce that we are joining with other YC associations for an online event on the 10th of November to raise money for the British Royal Legion Armed Forces Charity. The event will have members of parliament speak, such as Sir Ian Duncan Smith MP, Tom Tugendhat MP, Andrew Bowie MP and Rt. Hon. Tobias EllwoodMP. There are prizes to be won through a raffle! Sir David Amess was a devoted colleague and MP who was dedicated to helping his constituents. His tragic death is a massive loss for the party and at this time, our prayers are with his family and friends.

SUNDAY POST: The Conservatives’s are dedicated to listening to the public and their concerns, in light of the tragedies of the deaths of Sabina Nessa, Bibaa Henry, Nicole Smallman and Sarah Everard. The Conservative government, have put £25 million in funding towards a Safer Street Fund which aims to cut crime and make public spaces safer. The funding will go towards local projects aimed at increasing the safety of public space for all, but with a particular focus on tackling violence against women and girls.

SUNDAY POST: Our MP, Dean Russell MP, has successfully campaigned to get the Tips Bill into law. The new bill ensures that workers will have the right to keep the tips they work hard to receive once Parliament passes the upcoming Employment Bill. SUNDAY POST: The plans that were in place for COVID passports to be rolled out have now been ditched, says Health Secretary Sajid Javid. Under the scheme, people would have been required to show proof of double vaccination, a negative COVID test to gain entry to clubs and other crowded events.

The government are keen to get life back to normal as soon as possible and decided to make the decision not to go ahead with the vaccine passports. Mr Javid said: "We just shouldn't be doing things for the sake of it or because others are doing it, and we should look at every possible intervention properly”.

The Watford Young Conservatives fully endorse this initiative 🇬🇧.
