This. We have found Healthier Heroes CIC to be an incredible resource for referral and advice . We are so grateful for what they have taught us and the help given.

If you are in the North of England and need support don’t wait - contact.

We’ve had a number of messages and emails over the last couple of weeks regarding referrals into our projects and the various other schemes out there that act as a “gateway.”

We would like to make it clear that direct referrals can be made to Healthier Heroes CIC for any of our homelessness projects across the North of England without anybody else needing to be involved.

All you need to do is get in touch via the email address below, and we will send out a referral form before taking things from there.

We’re here to make the process as straightforward and accessible as possible for those who need support.

On the night of 18/19 May 1943, the crew of No. 307 Polish Squadron “Lwów Eagle Owls”, Fl/Lt. Antoni Dzięgielewski (pilot, aged 26) and Fl/O. Adam Węgiel (navigator, aged 34), failed to return from an intruder operation over northwest France. Their de Havilland Mosquito, operating from RAF Predannack in Cornwall, was believed shot down by German anti-aircraft fire off the Brittany coast. Both airmen were missing, presumed killed.
They have no graves. Their names are commemorated on the Polish Air Force Memorial at Northolt, at Runnymede, and in Warsaw.

We are very excited to announce our new programme "Military Memories" . Working with some outstanding dementia partners Forces United Veterans Together, will be providing a service that will specifically help identify the needs of Veterans with potential memory problems or enhance specialised support for those already diagnosed.

Luther Blissett launched Dementia Friendly Watford with
Peter Taylor - Mayor of Watford and is an Ambassador for With a wealth of lived experience of dementia care and having worked with some incredible resources we have been able to identify the need for "Military Memories". A way of specifically helping engage with and support former servicemen and women worried about memory problems or struggling with a diagnosis.

Our existing Veteran support and outreach work enables us to help existing dementia programmes and services, as well as local hospitals and GP practices by providing simple steps and a connection to identify Veterans and work together to create relevant memory plans for them. Having served for our country brings some very specific routines as well as reminiscences.

"Military Memories" also includes supporting Royal British Legion branches whose members have concerns and Herts Police with the introduction of the Forcer Protocol which sits alongside the Herbert Protocol - helping families find a loved one who has gone missing.
