We have had such a wonderful learning experience watching ducklings hatch from their eggs. The children have been fascinated to see the ducklings emerge and loved the opportunity to gently hold them. The excitement continued as the children watched the ducklings take their first swim outside, learning about growth, life cycles and caring for animals through this memorable hands-on experience. It was truly a special moment that sparked curiosity, excitement and lots of smile 🐣🐥

January highlights… frosty and wet days, the children’s interest in ice and penguins! Looking out for squirrels around us, and curiosity in our natural environment

From Autumn sunshine, falling leaves 🍂🍁…. to Winter cold and Ice ❄️ The children have loved exploring our outdoor environment, we have kept wrapped up and love snuggling under the throw and having hot chocolate at snack time! ☕️

Last week of the half term… playing in the rain 🌧️ Halloween activities with pumpkins 🎃 … Pumpkin soup in the Bistro, painting and hammering 🔨 🥽 Halloween yoga 🧘‍♂️ and spooky visitors in our “haunted house!”

We have been busy back at Catherington Nursery, harvesting our crop of tomatoes, and using our home grown herbs to make pizza and pasta dishes. The children love to recreate their cooking experiences in our outdoor Bistro area!

Our garden over the summer is in full bloom, and abundant in fruit and vegetables - thanks to the children that helped grow and care for them 🌻 🍅 🌺

Our Leavers Celebration of 2025, it has been a wonderful year, thank you to all our families for their support. A huge thank you from all the ladies at Catherington Nursery for their gifts and cards they are very much appreciated.
Good luck to all children starting their next journey at their new schools.
We look forward to seeing our returning children from Wednesday 3rd September, as well as new children who will be joining us. Happy summer holidays, much love from us all ######

Lots of ‘messy play’ this week. Fine motor skills for pre writing - a significant fine motor skill for your child to have for handwriting is good in-hand manipulation, the skill of picking up an item and being able to move it around in their hands, manipulating and involving the coordination of small muscles and movements of the hands, fingers, and eyes whilst having fun!!
