Did you know that the name Hampshire is a derivation from Southamptonshire which still shows up in documents into the start of the 20th century!

We are flying the flag for Hampshire! Saturday 15 July is Hampshire Day, a special opportunity to remember this county's rich history, celebrate our diverse communities and share our pride in Hampshire’s heritage, culture and beauty.

EHDC Chairman, Cllr Anthony Williams, helped raise the flag over Penns Place. He said: "Hampshire has been my home and my family's home for 47 years and I welcome this opportunity to celebrate the volunteers and residents that serve our county in so many ways."

💼🚍💰 Filling a budget shortfall of £132 million could mean us lobbying Government to allow us to make a small charge for older people’s bus passes, or a nominal fee for using the household waste recycling centres – what’s your view?

Let us know about these and other proposals by taking part in our Budget consultation by 23 July. Complete the survey to give your views https://www.hants.gov.uk/aboutthecouncil/haveyoursay/consultations/budgetconsultation

Chris Hatter has represented Horndean Kings & Blendworth Ward for the last 4 years and is keen to continue his good work. Here are some good reasons to on Thursday 4th May 👇

"I have lived locally since 2016 with my family. I have been proud to represent Horndean residents on East Hampshire District Council since 2019. I know the issues and concerns that families and individuals face in our area.

As a local councillor, I have been involved in the granting of funds towards local projects such as supporting Xcel gymnastics club, Horndean Volleyball Club and the community library at Merchistoun Hall.

I am passionate about local issues and supporting my community. I hope that with resident support on 4th May, alongside David Evans, I will receive the mandate to continue this good work."

Sara Schillemore has represented her ward for over 20 years and is committed to representing all residents. Here are some good reasons to on Thursday 4th May 👇

"I have lived in this area for over 40 years, my children attended local schools, and I have been a councillor on East Hampshire District Council for over 20 years, sitting on the Planning Committee, the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and numerous working parties.

Locally, I have supported the residents of our area with individual concerns and helped local groups with grants of up to £1,000.

I have always been a LOCAL councillor, working for LOCAL people, and it would be my privilege to continue to represent residents of my ward on East Hampshire District Council after 4th May."

Candidate Sara Schillemore says, "If re-elected, I pledge to continue to make people aware of the benefits of the welfare initiatives which East Hampshire District Council has been working on since 2018. Careful budgeting and investing enables us to limit council tax rises to only 2% this year whilst still supporting residents and not cutting services."
