Works taking place on the Church Wall on Lilbourne Road are to refurbish the existing wall due to it being unstable in places. A new disabled entrance will also be added to the car park. Existing materials will be used as far as possible. If you wish to see further information the plans are available via the Rugby Borough Council Planning Portal, the planning application number is R22/0851 and works are due to be completed in 2 weeks.

The link above is training produced by the British Heart Foundation and takes about 15 minutes to complete. It explains the differences between Cardiac Arrest and a Heart Attack, how to prepare the patient, make a 999 call, carry out CPR and how to use a defibrillator. There are also practical exercises and all that is needed is a mobile phone and a cushion.

Learn to do CPR and use a defibrillator in just 15 minutes on your mobile phone or tablet. Many of us will witness a cardiac arrest in our lifetime. Be ready for that day.

Neighbourhood Policing week Clifton Upon Dunsmore

At the End of January following the Parish Councils efforts to facilitate engagement with the local police they visited the Village on the morning of 26/01/2023 as part of their Neighbourhood Policing week to look at issues identified during consultations;

PC 1344 Joe Shore has reported back:

“It was a productive morning in the end.

We were there for around 08:35am and didn’t notice too much in the way of parking issues for the school. That might have been due to our presence as mentioned by some parents, but several words were had with drivers parking too close to junctions. Once the school traffic had disappeared, we focussed on the weight restriction. I think 5 fines were issued and words of advice passed on to companies.
I do think the current issue is exacerbated by the closure of Clifton Road up to the golf club. Many had been diverted on their satnav and complained about the lack of signage. However, the correct signage is in place albeit quite some distance from the village (at the top of the KENT/HILLMORTON ROAD for example).

2 other vehicles were also reported for obstruction on ALLENS LANE.”

We are looking to pull together another police consultation meeting in March, watch this space.

Clifton upon Dunsmore Parish Council is carrying out a consultation as part of the neighbourhood plan.
One of the first stages in the process is to consult the people in the parish on what they feel is important in the existing area, and what any future development might look like, where it should be located, and what it might contain. By completing the questionnaire the Parish Council will be able to deliver a ‘Neighbourhood Development Plan’ that truly reflects local need.

The questionnaire is completely anonymous. All responses will be used solely for preparing the Neighbourhood Development Plan for Clifton upon Dunsmore Parish.
