Every year in the UK, an estimated 48,000 children are placed into emergency care and accommodation. In most cases, these relocations happen rapidly, leaving children without access to basic personal belongings or everyday comfort items during an already overwhelming transition.

To support those critical first 48 hours in care, the team at our Warwick site partnered with The Buddy Bag Foundation. Employees from every department across the facility set aside time to pack 96 individual Buddy Bags, ensuring each package was filled with essential hygiene products, pyjamas, educational materials, and comfort items.

With more than 90% of our Warwick workforce participating in the assembly, the collective effort also qualified for a $5,000 grant through the IDEX Foundation programme. This financial contribution directly supports the foundation's ongoing logistics and supply network across the UK.

In mid-mount and rear-mount installations, compromise on water delivery is a constant operational risk.

When crews simultaneously require high-pressure reel attack lines and low-pressure main lines, conventional single-stage systems can force a drop in flow consistency. The Godiva Prima series addresses this directly through a multi-pressure engineering layout that operates low and high pressure independently from a single pump shaft.

Designed for seamless integration into European apparatus compartments, the Prima features a low-pressure impeller coupled with an optional multi-stage high-pressure unit. The system allows operators to run high-pressure hose reels up to 40 bar while maintaining full low-pressure discharge at the main outlets. Thermal relief valves and integrated priming systems come built into the casing, minimizing pipework overhead during vehicle builds.

In high-stress attack operations, traditional water delivery relies on constant radio communication between the attack team and the pump operator. The SAMFlows system changes this workflow by pairing automated pressure management with a smart nozzle directly at the line.

On the line: How much compartment volume do you actually have reserved for portable pumps?

Apparatus layouts vary significantly across European stations, from compact rural rescue vehicles to full-size urban pumpers. Space constraints usually dictate whether a portable pump stays permanently mounted or deployed on a slide.

We built the Blaze Warrior 10/10 with a 0.24 m³ footprint to fit both configurations without reducing water output (1,000 l/min at 10 bar). The configurable front or side discharge valves allow departments to build the compartment around their workflow, not around the pump casing.

The SAMFlows Roadshow is in full swing, and the feedback from the field has been fantastic!

We recently visited the Headquarters and Training Centre in Winsford for an interactive demonstration of our SAMFlows Total Waterflow Control system. Around 30 participants—including active crew members from both Cheshire and Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Services, alongside Fleet Maintenance engineers—joined us to see the system in action.

Utilizing the SAMFlows demonstration vehicle, we showcased SAMFlows' core operational advantages under real-world conditions: from effortlessly maintaining multiple distinct pressures across active discharges to seamlessly transitioning between water sources and automatically protecting water flow if the primary supply is compromised.

Despite the looming rain clouds, the weather held off, allowing for deep-dive discussions and hands-on interest from the entire team—right up until one of the attending crews was mobilized for a live emergency call, giving everyone a firsthand look at their impressive response time.

A big thank you to Cheshire Fire & Rescue Services for hosting us and to all the crews who came out to explore the future of automated waterflow management!
