It's time to introduce you to a new member of the WCRO team!

Sofie has recently joined us as our new archive trainee. Some of you may have already met her on Saturdays as one of our casual archive assistants. She will be part of the public service team, working on reception and document production. Here's Sofie getting to grips with reception!

We asked Sofie to write a little something to introduce herself:

"Hi everyone, I'm Sofie! After working at the Record Office as a casual archive assistant for the last year, I'm thrilled to be stepping into the role of Archive Trainee. I'm looking forward to learning all aspects of archive work and spending plenty of time uncovering the fascinating stories preserved in our collections. Please 'bear' with me while I get the reception training under my belt!"

Good Morning!

It's Wednesday, which means the Record Office is open! We're open Wednesday-Friday 9-4, and Saturday 9-12. Document Production closes 30 minutes prior to the building closing.

Don't forget our Family History helpdesk is also open 11-2:30 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! It's run by the lovely volunteers at Midland Ancestors.

Why not pop along and see if they can help you with your burning family history queries? There's no need to book.

We are going back to school this September with another double . Although these two documents may appear to be unrelated from a quick glance, there is an unexpected coincidence that ties them together - underpants!

This week, we said a fond farewell to Archive Trainee Jack, who is leaving us for pastures new at the end of his traineeship. Jack has had a couple of different roles in his time here, including apprentice archive assistant and project assistant for the recently completed Greville Family of Warwick Castle cataloguing project.

Good luck Jack!
